“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.'” (Mark 16:15) Ove the last 13 years, this church has someone traveling to other parts of the world; building, preaching or teaching for the kingdom of God. However, do to flying requirements, cost and plagues; we have not gone overseas on any mission trip for this third year. But we have NOT stopped reaching the world with the gospel. The tools to work with and to open doors we have walked through have enhanced what we are doing and doing it more effective. Today (baring something we do not foresee on this Monday) we will be walking through a new door in this service.
In the past, we have used what is called “Zoom” to communicate with our brothers and sisters in East Africa (mainly Uganda). This not only allows us to speak with each other, but we see each other on our computer screen and this was without any time lapse. While this is a great accomplishment, it had a major short coming when speaking with crowds of 200 and 300 … It was necessary to go through two interpretations, which made the meeting extra long (one 3+ hours) since 3 languages were involved (English and two tribal languages).
Today, we are launching into new territory for us, through Zoom. We will be broadcasting our AM service to Uganda (East Africa), where Africans will be assembled (at this time we do not know the number), and they will be watching our service, without interpretation, because our words will be streamed across their screen in their tongue. At the same time, we will see their assembly projected on our wall. If all goes well, we could be in another adventure.
You are loved, Pastor Don
