From the Pastor’s Desk

In the Book of John, John laid before us a powerful message, introducing us to facts in our relation to being “Born again” and that it is the “key” that opens the kingdom of God to us all. I have pulled out Jesus’ words from John 3:1-5 that presents to us the foundational truth of being “Born again.”: (verse 3) “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” … (verse 5) “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” Jesus is speaking of a transformation to be birth within each of us. Without this transformation, we have no bases to claim passage into the kingdom of God.

Upon repentance for the sins of our past, a new order of life opens to the believer in Jesus Christ and Christ alone. Jesus used the figure of “new birth” to dramatically indicate three things: 1) Without the New Birth, there is no life and no relationship with God. 2) In the New Birth, a new perspective comes as we ‘see the kingdom of God'” God’s Word becomes clear, and the Holy Spirit’s works and wonders are believed and experienced – faith is more alive. 3) Through the New Birth we are introduced – literally we “enter” to a new realm, where God’s new kingdom order can be realized.

The “new birth” is more than simply being “saved.” It is a requalifying experience, opening up the possibilities of our whole being to the supernatural dimensions of life and fitting us for a beginning in God’s kingdom order. And that thrills my spirit!

You are loved, Pastor Don
