We cannot understand the gospel unless we know the glorious grace of our awesome God. Being in the Lord’s presence illuminates our understanding, and yet our hearts are broken before our powerful, awesome God. “Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know” (Ephesians 1:18).
Brother Paul is saying here, “I want your eyes to be open to the reality of the character of this magnificent God we serve. He is not petty or insignificant. He is the one, true God, and he wants us to have our eyes open to the revelation of his nature.”
God’s presence and grace will create for you all kinds of opportunities that are not birthed out of your own works. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10).
He has something planned for you that you can walk into. Not only does he save you and give you faith, but he also calls you out and gives you a life of glory, power and grace! Christ does not simply take the evil out of you; he puts all the kingdom of the glory of Christ Jesus into you. His blood not only washes you from sin, but it also begins to be imputed into your life so that the righteousness and grace of Christ dwells in you.
Because of God’s grace, you can walk in victory with your head held high.
You are loved, Pastor Don
