From the Pastor’s Desk

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:12-13) I am convinced that when we get to heaven, it will be revealed to us the MANY adverse situations we could have changed, if we had a revelation of the power of God’s word, and yet, here it is before us.

Often I have to go to the Book of John, seventeenth chapter of Jesus prayer for His Disciples and for all believers (verses 6-26), because if you believe that when Jesus prayed, when Jesus spoke the Words of God, then everything began to change and words of power went forth with the power of God. In this prayer of Jesus, we see where he was asking the Father, that you and I be made perfect in Him and the Father. I especially enjoy the 22nd verse: “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one.”

When humankind saw Jesus, we saw the Father (14:9). But further Jesus explains how He glorified God. He “finished the work” the Father gave Him to do. Thus we can understand that to glorify God, is to complete an assignment – to do those things He has called, chosen, appointed, and anointed us to do.

And all of this is done through the Power and Authority of the word of God. Can we go forth with God’s word flowing over our lips and begin to see God manifested within our lives. Can we stop living below what God has appointed for our lives?

You are Loved, Pastor Don
