“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.” (John 15:18-21)

Last Sunday evening, after our evening service, I sat down and began to read an item on Facebook about Christians. While the article was very negative against all believers and what I found were SHOCKING HATEFUL comments. First, was the number of comments (well over 200) and I began to read them and here is where I got horrified. Second, it exposed the hatred that is in the world for God and the hatred for His Church. But then it went further as pure hatred was spilled toward we the believer and followers of Christ.

After reading 40 or 50 of the comments, I had to stop. During that reading I found no positive responses and I did not read even a comment that was in the middle of the road. The words used were inflammatory and would make your hair stand on end.

Anger began to rise within, when the Lord spoke and reminded me of what He said in the Book of John. And He reminded me that we are in those final days and the devil is angry, because he knows his days are numbered and he is using the willful to bring tribulation on God’s people. So I end with these words … Rejoice that you are worthy enough to suffer along with our Lord Jesus.

You are loved, Pastor Don
