I don’t know why, but this week I have had many memories of my past come to mind and it has reinforced the fact that I have had a wonderful life. And as this year is quickly coming to a close, I want to share briefly one of them.
I remember years ago, my wife and I planned a vacation in March to go to Yellow Stone Park in July of that year. We did our research of which way to travel. We did many calls to see where we wanted to stay. We scheduled our vacations where we worked … in short we made plans to cover every need and projected situation we thought we would face. The day arrived … we packed the car … got some cash and off we went for two weeks in the west. While everything we planned di not run true to our plans … it was a great vacation.
This is somewhat how we plan our life. Most likely very few of us when we were very young, sat ourselves down and said; more than anything else, I want to make sure I always put God first in every plan that I have. Many of us had other plans for our life, and then situations begin to enter into our lives and soon we realize two very important facts; First, many situations require a pause … a change of direction … a speeding up of plans and on it goes. And secondly, what about this eternal thing that every human being has to face? This means doing our research … our planning and making the right contacts.
I have done this … there was the day I contacted my Lord … surrendered my life to Him and have established my eternity in His presence. Today is not too late to make that connection.
You are loved, Pastor Don
