“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded.” (James 4:7-8).

As a child of God, we need to set ourselves in a position that allows us to have freedom from demonic assaults and oppressions. The very first step in arriving to this point is through submitting ourselves to God, in full obedience to His Word and in complete dependence and trust. As we do, we are bringing ourselves into agreement with God’s Word and will.

Another step is for us to reject the lies of the Adversary and accepting God’s promises and evaluation of our situation. As we resist (stand against) the devil and renouncing his lies and forsaking our own bent toward sin; we have been given a promise from God’s Word that the Devil will run or flee from us.

There is no place of comfort for a demon in the presence of a joyfully submitted believer who has determined to fully embrace the Lord Jesus by abiding by His Word.

Then you are ready for a second promise from God and we find it in John 15:7: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” – Strengthen your walk with the Lord through more of God’s Word within you.

You are Loved, Pastor Don
