“But he said to them, ‘Do not be alarmed You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. HE IS RISEN! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.'” (Mark 16:6)
Yes you are right. It has been 63 days since we were to celebrate our Risen Christ. However, I am sure our Lord understands the situation we were in. But I rejoice in the fact that He did rise over 2,000 years ago so we can be assured of our eternal life with him whenever we exit from the world.
I also rejoice and give thanks, in that as far as I know no one who is part of this church was touched by the virus that was tormenting this world … nor was one of our lives snuffed out. This reminds me of the Scripture 2nd Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
The Word of God, in its equipping us for good works, also gives us the FAITH to trust His word and to shield us from the dangers of our enemy. Ephesians 6:16 says: “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”
I believe we can look at this from two points of view; the day we celebrate His “rebirth” is not as important as it is that we celebrate it with much joy; and we allow the events of these last days to draw us closer to our Lord and Savior.
You are loved, Pastor Don
