It is hard to believe that we are in the final days of another year. as I pondered this, the thought entered into my mind our motto for the year; 2019 Breaking Free in Jesus. While I had other thoughts about the meaning of this for this year … yet the Lord was faithful in that we did break free from some financial difficulties … mainly because of the faithfulness on one of our people. I also believe we were set free in another area; however, I will discuss this with the Board in our planning meeting next month.
I would suggest that 2019 was what I would call a yo-yo year. We had plenty of ups and far too many downs. But all-in-all the Lord is preparing us for the victories of tomorrow.
For next year, we will have as our guiding light – “2020 Walking In God’s Power.” However, it has to be more than a banner hanging on the wall or a statement at the bottom of our bulletin. It has to be a united effort for everyone who calls this church as their house of worship.
God has a walk designed for each of us to walk in His power. But we cannot be just a by-stander and watch what God is doing. Now in these last days, the Lord wants us to stand tall and not accept defeat, but instead; fight the good fight and become an overcomer. The Lord tells us in Revelation 21:7: “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” This is where it becomes so exciting … “shall inherit all things” includes Walking In God’s Power. Let’s join together in the walk.
